It’s summer time. That means that it’s officially time to pull out the barbecue and get grilling! What’s that? You don’t have a barbecue handy? Well don’t worry! You can still cook some hot dogs using the greatest source of heat we have: the sun.
Here’s how you can turn an ordinary Pringles can into a solar cooker for your hot dogs!
Take an empty Pringles can and use a straight edge to draw a rectangle on the side of the can.
Use an X-acto knife to cut out the rectangle. Save the leftover cardboard for later!
Push a wooden kebab skewer through the center of the plastic lid.
Drill a hole in the center of the bottom of the can to hold the other side of the skewer.
Put the lid back on and push the skewer through the hole you created on the bottom.
Fold the leftover cardboard and glue it to the bottom of the can to help it stay upright.
If you want, you can add plastic wrap over the hole to help keep the heat inside.
Now it’s time for the good part. Pop open the lid and stick your hot dog on the skewer. Return the skewer into the can and pre-made once again, and let the sun do its work!
