Have you ever done something on accident and instantly regretted doing it? A mother in the UK and her 3-year-old little boy were getting out of their car. In doing so, he accidentally dented the car next to them.
Instead of ignoring the damage and pretending like it didn’t happen, the mom told the owners that she would be happy to pay for the damages. They accepted and went on their way. Later on when this woman went to get the estimated bill for the car damage, they handed her a paper with the tallied up costs.
When she looked at the paper she couldn’t believe what she saw. The damage in costs from this was going to be quite hefty — £1,838.00, or $2,872 in American dollars. But when she got to the bottom of the list of charges she realized just how amazing people can be.

The invoice lists what it would cost for repair and re-spray, a whopping $2,344. It then lists the cost for a re-spray V.A.T totalling $469, which sounds about right as her kid might have taken off paint.
But then it goes on to list things like “numerous cups of tea while pondering repair, $44” and “numerous packets of biscuits while pondering repair $16”. When mom finally gets to the bottom of the invoice it reads — “These things happen … minus — $2,872” — this sweet couple didn’t charge them for anything. They thought the fact that the mom and son owned up to the damage was enough.
They did have one small request though, “The only thing we ask you is you keep taking our parcels in when we are not here, thanks!” The mom was so blown away by their kindness and generosity that she shared this note with MetroUK, who then posted it on their twitter.
What did you think of this pleasant turn of events? It just goes to show if you’re honest with people, you might just be pleasantly surprised with the response.
