Middle school is filled with moments that shape a young teen’s life. These coming-of-age moments are different for everyone, but one thing remains constant. We always remember the times our friends were there for us.

Desiree Andrews is a student at Lincoln Middle School and just experienced one of these unforgettable moments right at her own school. She’s a cheerleader for the eighth grade basketball team and was bullied by another student during one of their games.

Desiree has Down syndrome, but that doesn’t give anyone the right to treat her differently. The boys on the basketball team immediately come to her rescue in the sweetest way possible. Listening to the other students talk about how much they love Desiree will bring tears to your eyes!
