It was a beautiful sunny day, so Mom decided to take her son, Noah, out into the backyard to play. She pulls open the sliding door, and Noah cheerfully waddles out.

With a sudden movement to the side, something catches the toddler’s eye. A stranger is scrambling over the fence, making their way into the family’s yard.

But wait a second…Noah knows exactly who it is! “Hi!” he exclaims when he recognizes the masked figure as Spider Man. It’s not every day that you get a visit from a world-renowned Superhero, so you can only imagine Noah’s excitement! 

Spider Man kneels down as Noah lingers in excited confusion. As the toddler stares up at the man in awe, he quickly removes his mask, bearing a familiar face.

It takes a few seconds for Noah to register who he’s looking at, but when he finally realizes who it is, he exclaims, “Daddy!!!”

I just about lost it right then and there. Behind Spider Man’s mask hid Noah’s father, Jason, who had previously been deployed in Afghanistan.
