“Stand By Me” Singer Ben E. King Has Died. His Famous Performance Gave Me Chills.

Ben E. King, one of the most famous R&B singers of all-time, has passed.

Notorious for the hit song, “Stand By Me,” King was 76 years old at the time of his death and died of natural causes in his home in North Carolina. King originally rose to prominence in the 50s as a member of the singing group The Drifters.

He performed and wrote songs with the group such as “There Goes My Baby” and “Under The Boardwalk.” He then branched off into a solo career, producing the song he is best known for, “Stand By Me.”

I couldn’t help but shed a tear during this soulful performance that provides a glimpse into Ben. E. King’s incredible career. May he rest in peace.
