As mothers, we are constantly being judged for everything we do (and don’t do). Our society is a very judgmental place and everyone has his or her own opinion of what you should and shouldn’t do when raising a child.

Deaf vlogger Michelle Lane decided to make a video talking about all of the ways that our society judges mothers — and everything she mentions in the video is so true. Being a parent is one of the hardest jobs you will ever have, but it’s also one of the most rewarding.

Being able to see all of the ways that our children change and grow right in front of our eyes and watching them develop into the beautiful people they are is such a precious thing.

But it’s also hard to stay positive about your parenting skills when the people around you are constantly saying you should be parenting in another way.

As Michelle mentions in the video, if you are an overprotective parent, then people will criticize you and say that your children are missing out on their childhood. Then, if you let your child play outside alone they will judge you for not watching everything they are doing every moment.

Michelle talks about all the problems and judgments mothers face, from pregnancy through motherhood. Buzzfeed Life reached out to Michelle to see what the video’s inspiration and message is. This is what she said:

“A friend […] sent these quotes to me, and I decided to put them together into a video,” she told Buzzfeed Life. “I thought it was perfect to describe what I am facing every day, and other mothers out there.”

Her main message and biggest thing we can all take away from this inspirational video is ‘to do what is best for you’.
