When a random and utterly genuine act of kindness is captured, it seems to warm people’s hearts no matter where in the world it occurs. A heartwarming clip has recently been released of a man giving the shirt off his back to a cold man who was shivering on a Brooklyn-bound A train in New York City.
The now-viral clip was shared to Facebook by Lazaro Nolasco, who told the New York Daily News that he boarded the somewhat empty train in Washington Heights. There he saw an elderly man who was sitting alone and didn’t have a shirt on. Temperatures in the city can reach near freezing, and the elderly man was shivering.
The Good Samaritan then took his white t-shirt off of his body, walked over to the man sitting alone, and gave him the tee. Although the conversation is isn’t audible, the generous young man can be seen gently helping the elderly man put the shirt on. Once on, he then helps to adjust the fit of the shirt before walking back to his seat. Moments later he returns with a black hat that he also placed on the man’s head.
“The guy did a good deed, so I wanted to record it,” Nolasco told the Daily News. “I would tell him, ‘God bless him.’ That was thoughtful.”
Wouldn’t you agree? What would you do in this situation?
