In an instant, everything changed for these children from a Washington state elementary school. It’s rare that you come across a story that will completely make your heart stop, until you see the video below.

The children were just learning about the safety necessary when taking the school bus and the importance of not running towards the moving vehicle. But there are no safety precautions parents and teachers could take for the scene that happened one Friday morning.

The kids walk out to the bus stop when a careless driver nearly hits them as they attempt to board the bus. The SUV comes flying down the right side of the stopped school bus, and miss the children by a hair.

The cameras inside the bus captured it all and police are currently looking for the reckless driver. One mother helplessly yelled towards the driver as she watched on with fear. It’s truly a miracle that no one was hurt in this horrific scene.
