When you visit a garage sale, you stumble upon hidden treasures that you never knew you were missing.

Maybe it’s the vintage inspired velvet lampshade, or the statement painting you need right over your kitchen table! For this crafty man, it was a plain old wooden table.

But he had bigger, and better plans for this boring table. He transformed it into a fun addition for any kid’s (or adult’s, who am I kidding!) game room!

His wooden table looked like this when he first brought it home.

Then he got the brilliant idea to sketch out a life-sized Monopoly board.

Here are all the tools necessary for his transformation.

He says, “I started using a butter knife because, well I don’t know. Then I found some wood carving tools I forgot I had and used those instead. It helps to keep the wood burner in place later on.” Yep- I would think you need something a little stronger than a kitchen knife for this project!

Can’t forget this iconic square!

Then he added the finishing touches with varnish.

All done! This finished product is cooler than any old wooden table I’ve ever seen!
