Did you have a Sweet Sixteen growing up? These types of right-of-passage celebrations have been becoming popular over the years and may have gotten a little out-of-hand at this point. Seems like now-a-days teenagers are already expecting way too much from their parents, and now, they are practically insisting on having these types of parties. And of course, their party must be better than all of their friends’, which means their parents are pressured to buy them the prettiest prom dress, the best decorations, and provide the funnest activities available for the special day. There’s no way a parent on a budget can win!
In this social experiment, you’ll witness exactly the kind of ungrateful and expectant behavior that one millennial teen is throwing in order to get what she wants from her mom. It’s practically a new version of the terrible-two’s, tantrums and all. Only this time, WWYD hires actresses to act out the roles of mom and daughter, using feedback from clothing store owners, who witness this behavior all the time, and reality shows, to plan out their act.
The goal? To see how other shoppers react to this tense situation. What one mother says will surprise you. What would you do in a situation?
