Teen’s New Eyebrows Go Terribly Wrong After Beauty Treatment

It is no surprise that teenage girls love the latest fashion trends, but sometimes those fads come at a cost. A 19-year-old English teen found out the hard way that not all fashion trends are good fashion trends.

Polly Smith wanted to achieve one of the hottest trends for 2015- thicker, fuller and bold eyebrows with a slight arch. A local salon offered the look with a procedure called HD Brows.

HD Brows is designed to darken and thicken sparse brows. The treatment includes waxing, threading and dyeing the eyebrows to achieve the coveted look.

She visited a local salon in her hometown of High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire where she tested the dye on her skin to ensure she would not have an allergic reaction to the dye.

At first, there was no apparent reaction and Polly was happy with the treatment. Then shortly after Polly noticed a slight reaction. Days later, she was rushed to the hospital.

Polly experienced an allergic reaction that caused her face to swell and bruise to the point where she could not open her eyes. At the hospital, she was prescribed antibiotics, steroids and antihistamines, but they did very little to ease Polly’s pain. Doctors believe that her injuries could be permanent.

Polly feels the procedure was not worth it. She is telling her story to save other teenagers from experiencing such a terrible lesson. She warns, “You should think twice about doing something which could scar your face… I don’t think it is worth the risk.”
