See That Bottle? It’s The Key To Keeping Your Child Calm In Time Out

Even the best of children misbehave, and when they do, they typically have to be sent to timeout. Unfortunately, while it might be easy to send them there, it’s not always so easy getting them to stay in timeout.

Enter: The Timeout Glitter Bottle

Because getting your kids to sit in a chair and mindlessly stare at the wall is next to impossible, the time out bottle allows them to have something cool and calming to look at while waiting out their punishment and thinking about whatever it is that they did.

The concept is really easy, it’s just a big bottle (about the size and shape of an empty Smart Water bottle) filled with water, glitter, and tacky glue. You shake it to make the glitter swirl, and when the glitter settles at the bottom, the child is finished with timeout. You can add more water/tacky glue depending on the severity of your kid’s punishment.

To make this godsend of a gift, simply take an empty water bottle and fill it ¾ of the way up with room temperature water. Then add half a bottle of tacky glue, some glitter glue, and a decent amount of glitter. If you’re feeling super fancy, you can add glitter confetti shapes as well.

Now sit back, relax, and wait for your kid to mess up (this should take, what, 5 minutes?), and let the magic timeout glitter bottle work its magic!
