Sapphyre Johnson is all smiles! She’s your average three-year-old, with her bubbly personality and eagerness to take on the world, but she was born a little differently. The toddler from Tennessee was born with missing toes and fingers, so both of her feet were amputated in order for the doctors to fit her with prosthetics.
The brave little girl realizes her legs aren’t exactly like the other children running around the playground, but she was blessed with a gift that changed everything!
An 8-week-old white German Shepherd puppy was rescued from a shelter and breeders knew this particular pup needed a special home. Lt. Dan, fittingly named after the character in “Forrest Gump,” was born with the majority of his right paw missing. The two friends instantly connected and her first reaction was, “Mom, look! He’s got a foot like mine!”
Johnson’s parents were finally able to bring their little girl home from the hospital, and they knew there was no better way to welcome her home than with an adorable addition to the family!
