He Took a Run Down, Empty 258 Square Foot Apartment and Turned It Into THIS!

When you see a run down, empty 258 square foot space with an old mattress in it, would you think to yourself, “hmm, I’d like to live there”? Probably not! But for Christian Schallert, this empty space was an opportunity to create something amazing.

The challenge to transforming this unit started from the ground floor, literally. To even get to the unit you have to climb 100 steps – and judging by the looks of the place there’s probably no elevator!

When Schallert first walked into the apartment it looked like there was nothing in there. There were just walls with cabinets, a few windows, and a cube-shaped glass door shower. Then he started opening cabinets and it turns out that everything is built INTO the walls!

“It’s like LEGOs for adults, you have to build everything you want,” said one of the guys in the video.

If you want a kitchen you have to open cabinets and pull down tables. If you want a bed you have to pull it out of the wall. If you want your shampoo in the shower you simply open a little cabinet and voila, there it is!

Although it is small, the way they set it up makes it seem like a normal, large apartment! I was amazed!
