Getting cut off while driving is an annoyance and unsafe. But when it happens during a tornado, it is hard to not count your blessings. In a terrifying moment, a tornado in Tainan City, Taiwan, picked up a car, narrowly missing the car that was cut off.
Powerful Typhoon Souledor made landfall in Taiwan as a Category 3 storm with heavy rains and winds battering the island. There were reports of tornadoes in Tainan City though it’s uncertain if they were all the same one or different ones.
The massive whirlwind seemingly appeared out of nowhere and moved ominously down the street sweeping up everything in its path. It is clear that drivers on the road were left utterly helpless as the monstrous spiral moved toward them.
The dashcam footage shows a small white car cutting off the car with the dashcam. Seconds later, it is seen being swept up in a tornado as it moves across a roadway. The unfortunate motorist was sucked directly into the terrifying twister and pulled 200 feet down the road.
The people in the car with the dashcam appear uninjured and ran to tend to someone who seemed to be picked up by the tornado. It is unclear where the white car went.
This extraordinarily chilling footage is a stark reminder of just how defenseless man and machine are against the incredible forces of nature.
