Imagine waking up one day and before you lay your head down to sleep, all of your worldly possessions have been destroyed and your family has been left homeless. That’s what happens all across America in the spring and summer during tornado season.

During a particularly horrible tornado spree in the southeastern US in April of 2011, thousands of families all across the region lost everything. But out of the tragedy came inspiration and examples of resolve and perseverance ran rampant.

The stories told by these amazing families will fill you with hope. Survivor Patty Boullion wanted to preserve these amazing examples forever, so she took to Facebook and asked survivors to tell their story.

These stories are a reminder that even when it seems like all is lost, there is always hope.
