Disney is known for magical things. Young and old relish in the magnificence that inside this beloved theme park. But now there’s no need to travel to Anaheim, California to indulge in their delicacies.
Our prayers from the sweet heavens have been answered with this DIY Disneyland Tiramisu Twinkies!
The Disney Diner shows us how to recreate this dessert from Disney’s Pop Century Resort. The recipe calls for 14 Twinkies, 1/3 cup water, ½ cup sugar, 2/3 cups cooled brewed espresso, 1 ½ cup heavy whipped cream, more sugar, vanilla extract, and a pound of mascarpone cheese. Also, don’t forget some softened cocoa powder for dusting.
She starts by slicing the Twinkies in half, gently. She places the Twinkie halves into a 9 x 13-inch aluminum pan. She explains that the pan fits seven Twinkies 14 halves, and it is perfect for the first layer.
Next is the espresso syrup. In a pot over a medium heat flame, she pours in 1/3 cup of water, ½ a cup of granulated sugar and stirs until sugar is dissolved. She turns off the heat when the sugar water comes to a boil and add 2/3 cups of brewed espresso. She lets the mixture cool.
In a mixer, she adds 1 ½ cup of whipped cream, 1/3 cup of granulated sugar, two teaspoons of vanilla extract and whips until stiff peaks form. She then adds one pound of mascarpone cheese into the mix and folds.
Next, she takes a spoon of the espresso mixtures and drizzle over each Twinkie. She then adds the mascarpone filling to various parts of the layer, after which she uses a spatula to spread evenly over the entire layer. The woman repeats the entire the process again for the second layer. She covers foil pan with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 24 hours.
The final step involves sifting cocoa powder over the dessert. The result is a creamy, Twinkie-filled delight. Happy eating!
