Yoyomax12 starts off by putting 1 cup of milk and 1 ½ tablespoon of butter into the microwave for one minute until the milk is warm, and the butter is melted. Then she adds to the milk 2 ½ tablespoons of white granulated sugar, ¾ teaspoon of salt, 2 ¼ teaspoons of quick rising yeast, and 1 egg yolk and stirs well. She adds a portion of 3 cups of flour and mix until a dough is formed but still wet and sticky.
She separates the dough into three parts. She puts one-quarter of the dough into one bowl and another quarter in another bowl. In the bowl with the larger portion, she adds one drop of pink food coloring, one drop of red food coloring and mixes well. She adds ¾ cup of raisins and stirs them in. At this point, she adds some more flour to reach a consistency that will allow her to knead the dough. She then puts the ball into a bowl covered with plastic wraps to rise.
To one of the quarters, she adds one droplet of green food dye, mixes, then adds flour to knead. She covers and allows the yeast to take effect. For the last quarter, she adds flour, kneads, and allows it to rise.
After two hours, she takes the pink dough and presses down to release most of the air. She then forms the pink dough into a round, log shape the size of your pan. She then takes the white dough, rolls it out with a pin and brushes with some milk. She also brushes the pink log dough with some milk as well.
She rolls the white dough around the pink dough and pinches the ends to seam them. She completes the step with green dough, brushes with milk and rolls around the log. She prepares a baking pan by spraying with cooking spray and places the log seam-side down and allows it to rise until it double in size.
Place in the oven preheated to 350°F for 15 to 20 minutes.
The results are adorable!
