Remember the Karate Kid movies, and howevery kid in the 1980s wanted to learn karate and become a street fighter? Not to mention, all the Jackie Chan inspirational films, which convinced us all, that being a ninja or a samurai would basically be the coolest thing ever.
I don’t know about you, but my friends and I certainly all went out and signed up for karate classes right away after watching these movies! Of course, none of us made it passed yellow belt status before we gave up, but this little girl, isn’t one for giving up. Her name, is Jesse Jane McParland, and she is, a real-life, dyed-in-the-wool samurai, and no one can argue any differently, especially after watching this video of her competing in the Junior WAKO World Championships of 2014.
This is one of those videos you definitely have to watch until the very end, because this little girl gets bolder and bolder the longer her routine continues.
When she first walks out on stage to perform, she looks a little nervous, and does a little hop of anxiety, but that insecurity quickly goes away as she bows and begins her routine. Little Jesse has more spunk than I’ve ever had in my life, and I can’t even believe the fervor with which she swings that real samurai sword around. If you have any kiddos wishing they could be Jedi Masters, thanks to the newest of the Star Wars movies, I highly recommend you have them watch this video.
Talk about a real girl on fire!
