A cheating spouse is too much to bare, but one wife had the best response to the betrayal. She announced the breakup not on Facebook, or on the phone to their family and closest friends, but on a massive roadside sign on his route to work.

The wife, known only as Lisa, left the giant 15ft x 10ft message overnight for husband Paul to see on his morning work commute.

Thousands of other motorists also saw the message as she put it alongside the busy Sheffield Parkway, a major commuter route into the South Yorkshire city.

The billboard read: To my cheating husband Paul. You deserve each other. When you get home I won’t be there. Enjoy your drive to work! Lisa.

Many who saw the billboard quickly took to Twitter to offer commentary, and most were supportive of the scorned wife. According to Daily Mail, Mark Catterall, from advertising agency Kong Media sold Lisa the advertising space and said she paid “hundreds of pounds” for her exit sign.

The billboard company Anco Digital confirmed the sign was displayed for some three hours before it was taken down.
