Arizona Woman Finds Gross Looking Worms In Her Store Bought Salmon

Bethany Burrows

Jen Chafitz had just finished her grocery shopping for the week when she discovered something that made her never want to eat again!

The Arizona woman was about to start her meal prepping for the week when she reached for salmon she had purchased earlier that day.

She looked closely at the salmon only to discover that there were small white worms underneath the packaging that were very much alive.

These squirmy little creatures are suspected to be Anisakis simplex. According to Fiona Baird from the College of Public Health, Medical and Veterinary Sciences, “It is a very common fish parasite and is found in the gut of the fish. If the fish is not gutted properly then the worms will migrate into the flesh.” GROSS!

Jen received a full refund for her fish but that hasn’t stopped her from giving up meat and turning vegetarian … at least for a little while!

If you buy fish at your local grocery store then be sure to SHARE the love and pass it on!
