Did You Know There Are 3 Foods That Can Help Get Rid Of Wrinkles – SEE What They Are Here!

Ashley Rego

In my opinion, wrinkles are a sign of wisdom, a true testament to a life well lived. So for me, I welcome my wrinkles with open arms.

However, there are many people who aren’t as hospitable to these unavoidable age revealers, which is why we have rounded up three of our favorite at-home remedies to help minimize those uninvited lines and give you that ever-desired youthful glow.

These natural face masks all require ingredients you probably already have on hand, offering a safe, cost effective and long lasting cure to the inevitable – because face it ladies – we’re getting old whether you like it or not!

1. You say tomato, I say tomato

Tomatoes shouldn’t be reserved for your hearty pasta dinner. Not only do these juicy fruits offer heaps of nutrients when consumed, they actually provide multiple benefits when applied directly to your skin! Tomatoes contain lycopene, a type of carotenoid that helps neutralize the harmful effects of daily sun exposure. It also contains a good amount of vitamin C that aids in tightening skin – aka, goodbye wrinkles! Simply apply the pulp of a tomato (eat the rest for an extra wrinkle-fighting punch) to your face and let sit for 30 minutes and rinse with warm water when done.

2. Don’t go (coco)nuts – a little dab goes a long way!

Coconut oil is an AMAZING product. It has so many healing properties from hair repair to toxin remover, I could go on and on. So, the fact that this item can help diminish wrinkles, doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Its antioxidant properties protect the skin from harmful free radicals responsible for aging. The incredibly moisturizing effect coconut oil provides also helps reduce damage from UV rays while maintaining and repairing the elasticity of skin. Just massage a little dab on your problem areas right before bed, and when you wake up – good morning gorgeous!

3. But certainly go bananas!

Now, while the recipe I’m about to provide may sound like the perfect mid-morning snack, try and resist the urge to gobble up this tasty concoction. Dr. Oz swears by this face mask that combines 1/4 cup yogurt, 1/2 banana and 1 tsp honey.  Bananas are rich in minerals, antioxidants and vitamins that help to clear up those darned wrinkles and fine lines, while the lactic acid in yogurt gently exfoliates and the soothing honey moisturizes. Slather this mixture on your face and let sit for 15 minutes. Then rinse with cold water and pat dry…doctor’s orders!

So go ahead and give these all-natural remedies a try, because, well, what do you have to lose (besides a bunch of pesky wrinkles?!) But whether these simple solutions actually work or not, in the end there’s one thing we need to remember, as Mark Twain nicely put it:

“Wrinkles merely indicate where smiles have been.”
